Let's Get Social!
Welcome to my website! I'm Nicole, a children's book author dedicated to nurturing children's social-emotional development, one skill at a time. As a mother of two wonderful girls, I understand the complexities of navigating their intense emotions. Let's face it, managing emotions is a challenge for adults too! Years ago, I embarked on a journey to enhance my emotional intelligence to become a better mother and person. The more I delved into this journey, the more I realized the value of equipping children with these essential skills early on.
I yearned to provide my daughters with tools to explore their feelings, understand their origins, challenge underlying thoughts or assumptions, and effectively navigate through their emotions. While many children's books touch on the significance of emotions and offer coping mechanisms, I wanted to offer more. My aim was to foster a sense of self-awareness, teaching children different ways to manage and regulate their emotions—a skill set crucial for lifelong well-being.
Through my books, I aspire to demonstrate to children that emotions are not only normal but also invaluable guides. We are the masters of our emotions, empowered to harness their insights to inform our decisions and actions. By integrating practical skills and engaging activities, my books aim to make learning about emotions both enjoyable and effective for children and parents alike. As these skills become woven into your child's daily life, you'll notice a reduction in tantrums and meltdowns—sounds promising, right?
